About me

I live and work by the sea in Mudeford, where I split my time between my ceramics studio, my Chinese medicine practice, and the garden (or allotment, if I’m lucky enough to keep up with Sue).
Getting my hands into clay or soil feels like home – it’s where I do my best thinking, or none at all. My ceramics are shaped by the things I care about: nature, healing, connection, and the quiet beauty in everyday life.
I’ve worked as an acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist for nearly twenty years, and that way of seeing the world runs through everything I make. The rhythm of the seasons, the character of plants, the symbolism of form – it all finds its way into the clay.
I started making ceramic flowers because I always felt a little sad when the real ones wilted. So now I cheat – I slip the clay ones in among the fresh, and the colour lingers a little longer.
My mum’s the real gardener – I just follow instructions. And Sue, who I share my allotment with, is 80 and still runs rings around me. Between them, they’ve taught me nearly everything I know about growing, noticing, and showing up, whatever the weather.
At home, life is equal parts busy and brilliant. I’ve got two amazing daughters and a couple of completely mad dogs who keep things loud, loving and a little unpredictable.
I consider myself incredibly lucky to be doing what I do – making, growing, listening, shaping, and living by the sea. This little world I’ve built is full of meaning, mud, and a bit of magic – and I hope that comes through in everything I make.
