Limited Edition Flower Bee water cups - pre order

£15.00

Handmade Ceramic Bee Cup £35

(£15 pre-order deposit)

An original design by ceramic artist Kate Freemantle, created to offer bees and other beneficial insects a safe, shallow and reliable source of drinking water.

Every Bee Cup is individually made by hand in my Mudeford studio and fired twice to approximately 1200°C. This makes it frost-hardy and suitable for keeping outside throughout the year.

Because each one is handmade, there will be small variations in its shape, colour and finish, making every Bee Cup completely unique.

Choose Your Colour

You will be offered your choice of colour when your bee cup is almost ready (at the glazing stage). You will be sent a link for final payment and choice of colour)

What You Will Need

Your Bee Cup will come with the glue needed to attach it securely to a garden stake.

The garden stake is not included. You will need to purchase a 60–80 cm garden stake, available online or from most garden centres.

Follow the instructions supplied with the glue and allow it to cure fully before placing your Bee Cup outside.

Where to Place Your Bee Cup

Position your Bee Cup:

  • Close to bee-friendly flowers and plants

  • Somewhere sheltered, ideally in dappled shade

  • Where you can easily see and refill it

  • In a stable position where it will not be knocked over

Once positioned, try to keep your Bee Cup in the same place. Bees learn where reliable sources of water are and are more likely to return when they find it consistently available.

How to Use It

Fill the cup with a shallow amount of fresh water—approximately 5–8 mm deep. Check it regularly and keep it topped up, particularly during warm and dry weather.

Rinse the cup and replace the water regularly to keep it clean. Avoid adding sugar, honey or any other ingredients; fresh water is all that is needed.

Pre-Order Payment

The £15 payment secures your Bee Cup pre-order and forms part of the total purchase price.

I aim to complete all pre-orders as soon as possible, but I have had lots of lovely orders so it will take a bit of time to get through them. Because every Bee Cup is individually handmade (and I make them by myself!) completion times may vary. Therefore please do not order if you want them immediately!

When your Bee Cup is ready, the remaining £20 balance plus shipping will be due. I will contact you with a payment link and choice of colour, and your Bee Cup will be dispatched once payment has been received. I am testing new glaze colours so will update you when I have final selection and your order is ready.
